Photoshop notes
I am far from a Photoshop guru. I can't even recall any "can't-do-without" feature since version 3. This is more a list of stuff I have found handy and just in case I need to access them while I am not at my computer.- Colour matching with curve
Open both files, while in the file to be corrected, select curve menu, double click the midpoint colour, the colour selected dialog will pop up, with the option key down, you can select the midtone colour from the correct file. Release the option key, now whereever you hit on your file to correct (mostly a 50% spot), will be colour corrected to the colour you select. (Warning, the selected colour is kept in memory, until purged)
- Changing active layers by keyboard
option-[ to select the next layer down and
option-] to select the next layer up.
You can also press shift-option-[ or shift-option-] to switch to the bottom or top layer, respectively.
- Random full colour pattern
convert image to LAB, then do full gradient before applying different filters to each channel
- filmstrip (.flm)
please let me know if you work with this formatcommand option control shift (down or up key) to move a selection up and down a filmstrip.Always keep a copy of filmstrip (.flm) file. Manipulated PS file cannot be converted to an .flm filmstrip format. But manipulated one can be pasted onto an existing .flm file. Also you cannot add or delete an alpha channel in an .flm file
- formula
[dpi/lpi] square * % change in color(eg. 90% is .9) = number of steps
highest lpi for smooth fill = dpi * root of [ change in color * 0.03/length of blend (inches)]=
