  • Calculate days between two dates: Daycalc
  • Sequential download (abc001, abc002...): File grabber
I once downloaded 8000 eps logos from an archive!
  • Search resource fork: ResFind
  • Search file content for matches: Filebuddy, iSearch
  • Delete pre-set files/directories: AutoDelete
  • Dead pixel detection (LCD screens): DEAD-pixel Tracker or LCDtest
  • Time based file launcher: LaunchKey (repeatable) and of course Quickeys
  • One click, multiple launches: MultiAlias or SoftBundler
  • Best file synchroniser to date: Synchronize! Pro though it is Appleshare based
  • Favourite disk cataloger: Disk Recall - can catalog specific folders, no news of OS X version though
  • On screen ruler: ScreenRuler
  • Comparing monitor resolution for software development: SmallScreen
  • Compare font size Art Directors' Toolkit
  • Resize ratio finder: Art Directors' Toolkit, Digital Design Buddy
  • Detect pixel value: Color Detective
  • Convert ascii value to HTML escape codes (deter email address harvesters): SpamKiller though its usefulness is dubious
  • Convert txt files between platform, changes and replaces high bits characters: PcConverter, can create own table, textSOAP, TextSpresso. The later two does more stuff and not as straight forward.

  • To load a CDROM driver without restarting: LoadADrive
  • A no fuss envelop address printing software: Easy Envelopes

  • Generate paragraph of text you can use for dummy template: MacLorem
  • Test Pattern Maker for generating test screens for video work
  • MakeRefMovie for editing Quicktime reference movies
