DVD hack resources

Region encoding is a dirty word. Especially if you have any sense of the world outside "North America". One of the first thing I did to my Powerbook Ti 400 was to make it region-free.

I have wanted to make VHS copies of my own DVDs for my son to watch over-and-over again since we don't have a standalone DVD player and I am always on the computer. Macrovision has been preventing me from doing precisely that. Below are several software that supposedly RIP data from DVD, decrypting and disable Macrovision along the process:
  • DVDExtractor 0.9b I have successfully created macrovision-free, region-free DVD images with this.
  • Yade
  • DVDbackup, does not create disk images...
